American Athletic, Inc is a major sports equipment manufacturing company located in Jefferson, Iowa. We are owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company.
We currently have two openings for a Welder. Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames.
This is a full time, first shift position with excellent benefits. Pay range $21.71 - 23.71/hour.
AAI is the official equipment supplier to USA Gymnastics®, NCAA® Gymnastics Championships, the YMCA® National Championships, the Nadia Comaneci International Invitational, and the Bart Connor Invitational. AAI is also an official supporter of the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Spalding has been the official backboard of the NCAA Final Four Championships since 2009 and is one of the most well-known brands in the industry.
Our Jefferson, Iowa facility has been in operation and supporting our local community since 1954.
Must be able to set up and adjust the welding machine to give proper penetration of weld and to make welds with structural integrity, good appearance, and which adhere to specifications. |
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. |
Bolts, clamps, and tack welds parts to secure in position for welding. |
Sets up equipment (jigs and fixtures) and welds parts. |
Repairs or reworks products as directed. |
Responsible for the day-to-day care and maintenance of the welding machine. |
Must be able to report accurately labor performed via scanning and/or written reports. |
Follow all safety rules and regulations, and wear appropriate PPE at all times. |
Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor. |
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to compute ratios, and percentages
Ability to pass pre-employment skills testing
At least six (6) months continuous welding experience in a production environment or possess welding certification prior to employment. If the individual possesses the experience but does not possess the certification prior to employment, they must become a certified welder (overhead and vertical) within twelve (12) months to progress to the scale rate for a Master Welder.
