Position Summary

The Operations Manager oversees and directs operational aspects of the Distribution Center
and assists in establishing and implementing the facility’s strategic direction. Resolves
operational issues and embraces a continuous improvement culture. Ensures the efficient and
punctual delivery of goods to meet customer quality and service expectations. May fill the role
of Distribution Center Manager in their absence.

Specific Responsibilities

Oversee and direct distribution facility operations, as established by the
Distribution Center Manager. Areas of responsibility include receiving,
storage/retrieval, order fulfillment/picking, and shipping. Lead
operational initiatives and objectives to meet cost, quality, productivity,
and customer service goals.

Manage and direct the activities of managers and staff, as required, to
achieve desired results. Collaborate with subordinate managers and
supervisors to manage and monitor workflow, performance, work
standards, accuracy, and productivity. Provide feedback and guidance.
Enforce compliance with administrative and operational policy and
procedures.

Continuously drive for improvement in distribution processes and
methods. Examine current processes, identify improvement opportunities,
implement changes, and measure results. Participate in planning
workforce and space requirements to ensure efficient resource utilization
for maximum efficiency and cost savings. Create and maintain an
environment promoting employee engagement, teamwork, and results.

Communicate proactively with the Distribution Center Manager
concerning DC operations relative to costs, inventory stocking status, and
product replenishment. Evaluate effectiveness and recommend
alternative methods, procedures, staffing, etc. to achieve goals.

Promote and assure a Safe Work Environment in all processes and actions
in accordance with company policy guidelines, OSHA regulations, and
local, state and federal laws.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, a related field, or equivalent
years of related work experience
 Lean Six Sigma or professional supply chain management certification a plus
 Extensive knowledge of receipt, storage, retrieval, and transportation shipping methods and
procedures
 Strong background in automated inventory control management systems and integration
processes
 Strong project management and leadership skills
 Strong safety focus and experience
 Solid Microsoft Office skills

Minimum Job Experience Required

5+ years of related operational experience in a fast-paced distribution, manufacturing, or
related environment
 Inclusive of 2+ years of management experience with multi-million-dollar responsibility
 Experience in the consumer-packaged goods or a related industry
