Position Summary

AAI/Spalding is a major sports equipment manufacturing company located in Jefferson, Iowa owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company.

We currently have an opening for Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor directs and coordinates production operations and employees within their assigned area.  Ensures a safe working environment and the production of quality products based on standard operating procedures.  Leads the continuous improvement processes in their area of responsibility. 

AAI is the official supplier and partner to USA Gymnastics and the NCAA, as well as a proud partner with the Federation Internationale De Gymnastique (FIG).

Spalding is the largest basketball equipment supplier in the world. As the official backboard of the NBA and NCAA since 2009, this makes them one of the most well-known brands in the industry.

Our Jefferson, Iowa facility has been in operation and supporting our local community since 1954.

Specific Responsibilities

Plan production schedules for the assigned area and establish priorities. Establish and adjust employee work schedules and assignments to meet goals.

Identify, analyze and resolve manufacturing issues. Review ways to improve overall department productivity and drive improvements.

Promote and ensure a clean and safe working environment. Enforce company operating and safety policies and procedures.

Work with Purchasing to determine material requirements for the production schedule and ensure material is available when required.

Work with Engineering to establish standard operating procedures and quality standards for each work cell.

Work with the Maintenance team to establish maintenance procedures for all equipment in assigned work area.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent required. Associate degree in a related field a plus.
  • Solid manufacturing knowledge
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Strong computer and MS Office knowledge and skills

Minimum Job Experience Required

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Management experience a plus
