Position Summary

 

AAI/Spalding is a major sports equipment manufacturing company located in Jefferson, Iowa owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company.

 

We currently have an opening for a Production Inventory Control Associate. The PIC Associate provides operations guidance and support to coordinate production and inventory control requirements. Must utilize job knowledge and JIT processes to ensure orderly work releases, production planning, and component flow. This position is responsible for materials management functions relating to inventory control and assists with purchasing functions.

 

This is an in-person position located at our Jefferson, Iowa facility.

Our Jefferson, Iowa facility has been in operation and supporting our local community since 1954.

Specific Responsibilities

Coordinate and release production work orders, including outplant work orders, per demand requirements.  Ensure plants run at capacity and on-time shipment goals are met.

·       Review MRP reporting to monitor and assess work in progress.

·       Identify and delete work orders no longer needed.

·       Review and process production inventory adjustments. Remediate part shortages and manage return-to-vendor inventory.

·       Assign part number locations to ensure accurate WIP and review part numbers not released through mass releases.

Enforce inventory control procedures and oversee weekly cycle count and annual physical inventory processes.

·       Recommend inventory procedure changes to ensure integrity and accuracy.

·       Train employees on procedures and direct inventory workers during related processes.

·       Review and resolve identified discrepancies and complete management reporting.

Prepare and issue negative-on-hand report and collaborate with supervisors to remediate discrepancies. Review receiving reports and purchasing information to identify and resolve variances, report significant variances to management.

Review and process receiving transactions for the facility including processing of stock receipts, requisitions, pick lists, PO receipts, and part number labels.

Assist Purchasing with outsourcing efforts, new vendor setup, entry of quotes, PO receipts, and new pricing. Complete follow up with vendors on late purchase orders. Review and approve freight bills of incoming product.                   

Perform other duties as directed by the Manager-Operational Planning & Inventory Control.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, a related field, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent to an associate degree

Knowledge of just-in-time manufacturing and inventory control procedures

Strong computer and MS Office knowledge and skills

Strong organization and communication skills

Manufacturing background is required

Minimum Job Experience Required

3+ years of related work experience in inventory control and/or production planning

Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
