Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and accurate receiving and movement of material and other freight received by the facility.

Specific Responsibilities

Unload inbound trailers of materials either manually or with pallet jacks.

Verify packing lists and notify supervisor of discrepancies.  Scan cases or pallet labels as unloaded and monitor for damaged cases. Complete minor repairs to cases.

Sort cases by SKU onto pallets by standard case number and with proper box placement.  Move pallets of cartons to required locations for use or storage. Communicate with PIT operators to move full pallets as needed.

Attach pallet labels as required as well as making all tally marks to maintain count sheets where required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires basic math skills; ability to add and subtract
  • Ability to operate handheld scanner

Minimum Job Experience Required

0-3 months of related work experience
