The Industrial Engineering Technician improves overall Distribution Center performance and cost savings by assisting the Industrial Engineer with job analyses to standardize work methods, workstations, and equipment. Reviews job efficiency reports and notifies Industrial Engineer of abnormalities. Assists Industrial Engineer with various projects as needed.
Perform audits of job specifications, rates, and standardization of workstations, machine settings, and methods. Perform simple machine speed/cycle time checks; update and maintain Machine Speed/Cycle Time Manual. Perform frequency checks and other data collection activities. Take videos of operators and jobs for methods and time study analysis by Industrial Engineer.
Compile, maintain, and distribute efficiency, downtime, and other engineering reports as needed to department managers and supervisors.
Maintain and update SOP Manuals for Engineering and other departments. Write elemental job descriptions. Maintain and update Elemental Job Description Manual.
Assist the Engineering department with meetings and presentations, as needed.
As needed and directed by the PE Manager, work with Engineering personnel at other company distribution centers and Corporate Office, provide support to other departments to assure goals and initiatives compliance, and participate in brainstorming and problem-solving meetings.
2 yr. / Associate degree in related field or equivalent years of related work experience
Green Belt certification a plus
Strong math and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft applications
